Coastal Bedroom & En-suite

A dated bedroom and adjoining en-suite redesigned to create a fresher, more contemporary coastal feel, with improved storage, better flow and a cohesive scheme that connects both spaces.

The challenge

The bedroom was generous in size, but fitted furniture around and above the bed made this area feel enclosed. Heavy window treatments and a predominantly pink palette gave the room a dated appearance.

The adjoining en-suite also offered plenty of space, but dated sanitaryware, fitted cabinetry and finishes made it feel tired and disconnected from the bedroom.

The challenge was to open up the area around the bed, improve the use of storage and create a more contemporary design that would bring the two spaces together while retaining their individual character.

Before

The transformation

The bedroom was redesigned to feel lighter, more balanced and contemporary. Deep navy cabinetry, warm neutrals and softly patterned curtains replaced the dated pink scheme, while removing the fitted units around the bed created a more open and comfortable space.

Practical storage, layered lighting and carefully chosen finishes bring warmth and character without overwhelming the room.

The adjoining en-suite was given a fresh, contemporary look, with deep navy cabinetry, full-height mirrored storage and black fittings complemented by subtle brass details.

Warm wood flooring continues between the two spaces, creating a natural sense of flow and bringing the bedroom and en-suite together as a cohesive design.

After

The result is a calmer, more contemporary bedroom and en-suite that feel connected, function beautifully and flow naturally together.
